Unicode
RU: Unicode
A universal character standard that assigns a unique code point (written U+XXXX) to every character in every human writing system. As of 2024 it defines over 140,000 code points across 161 scripts. 'A' is U+0041. Unicode separates the abstract identity of a character (its code point) from its byte representation (the encoding — UTF-8, UTF-16, or UTF-32).
