Skein is free to use for personal learning. Content may change or become unavailable at any time. We don’t guarantee accuracy or availability.
1. The service
The content is provided free of charge, as-is, for personal learning. It may change or become unavailable at any time. No warranty of accuracy or availability is given.
TL;DR
GitHub OAuth is used for sign-in and progress sync. Optional billing can use GitHub Sponsors or Telegram Stars. We don’t collect your email or scan repositories.
2. Accounts
Sign-in uses GitHub OAuth. We store your GitHub id, username, chosen nickname, avatar URL, and the time you accepted these Terms. If you use Skein Coach through GitHub Sponsors, we also store the linked sponsorship id, sponsor GitHub id, tier, price metadata, privacy level, and sponsorship status needed to maintain the entitlement. If you use Telegram Stars, we store the Skein-owned order, product, amount/currency, payment status, Telegram payment and payer identifiers, and subscription timing/state needed to reconcile the payment, renewal, refund, and entitlement lifecycle. We do not collect your email or scan your repositories (scope: read:user).
TL;DR
Your learning progress belongs to you. Signed-in progress can sync across devices. Managed Coach grading sends only the submitted task context and answer to Anthropic. Account deletion removes synced progress and account-linked billing records held by Skein.
3. Your data & deletion
Your learning progress is yours. It syncs to your account so it follows you across devices. When you explicitly request managed Coach grading, Skein sends Anthropic the current practice task, constraints, grading rubric/model answer context, and the learner response you submitted; your broader progress history is not sent. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page; deletion permanently removes your account, synced progress, entitlements, AI usage records, linked GitHub sponsorship metadata, and Skein-held Telegram order/payment/subscription records linked to that account.
TL;DR
Use Skein for learning without disrupting the service. Don’t scrape at scale or bypass rate limits. Don’t use the service to harm others.
4. Acceptable use
Do not abuse the service: no automated scraping at scale, no attempts to disrupt availability, no circumventing rate limits, no using the service to harm others.
TL;DR
These Terms may change as Skein evolves. Material changes increase the Terms version. You’ll be asked to accept material changes again.
5. Changes
These Terms may be updated. Material changes bump the Terms version and you will be asked to accept again. Continued use after acceptance means you agree.
