Session Ticket Encryption Key: the symmetric key a TLS server uses to encrypt and authenticate session tickets it issues to clients. Because a compromised STEK allows decryption of all tickets encrypted with it, regular rotation — typically every few hours — is required to preserve forward secrecy for resumed sessions.
