A Cache-Control extension (RFC 5861) that allows a cache to serve a stale stored response when the origin returns a 5xx error, network failure, or DNS failure, for up to the indicated number of seconds past the response's normal freshness lifetime. The stale response must still carry a non-zero Age header.
