Real User Monitoring (RUM) collects performance and error data from actual browser or mobile sessions by injecting a lightweight script into pages. Unlike synthetic monitoring, which runs scripted probes in controlled conditions, RUM captures real-world load times, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript errors, and network timing across diverse devices, networks, and geographies, feeding long-term trend data into performance analysis.
