Raft
RU: Raft
A consensus algorithm designed explicitly for understandability, introduced by Ongaro and Ousterhout in 2014. It decomposes consensus into leader election, log replication, and safety, and uses a strong single-leader model where all writes go through the leader. Unlike Paxos, Raft publishes a complete specification including membership changes and log compaction, making correct implementations more approachable.
