Online Certificate Status Protocol (RFC 6960): a protocol for checking the revocation status of an X.509 certificate in real time. A client sends a request to the CA's OCSP responder and receives a signed 'good', 'revoked', or 'unknown' response — faster and lighter than downloading a full Certificate Revocation List.
