Generate Random Extensions And Sustain Extensibility (RFC 8701): a technique where TLS clients advertise reserved, randomly chosen values in cipher suites, extensions, and other negotiation fields. Servers that correctly implement TLS ignore unknown values; GREASE exposes servers that instead reject them, preventing ecosystem ossification.
