A per-function array V8 allocates to record runtime type feedback — one slot per IC site (property access, call, binary op). The Ignition interpreter writes observed hidden classes and call targets into these slots; TurboFan reads them to generate speculative optimized code. A megamorphic slot signals too many shapes and prevents inlining.
