Byzantine fault tolerance

RU: Byzantine fault tolerance

A class of failure in which a node behaves arbitrarily — sending conflicting, incorrect, or malicious messages to different peers — rather than simply crashing. Named after the Byzantine Generals Problem. A Byzantine-fault-tolerant system can reach correct consensus even when up to one-third of nodes act in this way.
